All Moved In

Well, I’m all moved into the new apartment. I took TONS of pictures of the process…. moving out of the old one, moving into this one. It’s been really nice because I’ve been the only one here all week so I’ve been able to kind of take my time and go about my business as I wish. I also cleaned up the living area…. I’m sure Jeff and Alex will appreciate that. I also had to do some major cleaning in my room here. The guy that lived in this room before me wasn’t the cleanest and he had long hair, which was clumped up all over the floor since he hadn’t vacuumed in a year. The toilet was black and the blinds had a thick layer of dust on them. There were silverfish in the bathroom and in the closet…. but now, most of that has been fixed. I found a couple more silverfish last night… I’ll have to buy some spray or something for them but this place is looking a LOT better!!!!

I must say that I have been quite bored without my roommates here though. I’m so used to having roommates and wishing I had some alone time that now that I actually have it, I don’t know what to do with it! It’s kinda weird I guess…. but oh well. Along with the new apartment came covered parking, so that’s nice. However, someone keeps leaving their fast food trash in the bed of my pickup and that is not appreciated. Some people have absolutely no class.

I’m glad that I’m all settled in here, but it kinda sucks that I am going to be moving back to San Antonio next week for the summer! I am glad that I moved in early though and was able to get all of my junk in here that way I won’t be struggling to do it in August whenever everyone else is. I think that I’m going to love this apartment.

PS- Spurs won last night. Suck it!

Finals Are Over

Well, it is true….. I’ve wrapped up my finals for the spring semester. I’m sorry that I’ve been absent for the past week or so, I’ve just been incredibly busy preparing for these finals. This year finals really seemed to kick my butt…. which is weird, because I usually don’t have any problem with finals. I’m not sure what it was about this semester but they really took a toll on me.

Now that it’s all said and done, I’m extremely GLAD that it’s over! I never thought that the end would come. It seems like finals have been running my life for the past few weeks. Today was my hardest final, my Spanish final, and I’m verrry glad that it is over. The test was actually really draining, but I think that I did really good. On my second hardest final, I found out that I made a 95… so that’s AWESOME!!

Now I just need to wait for the credits to roll in so that I can officially be considered a SENIOR!

Doggie Update

Well, last week we took Moose to the vet because he had an enlarged stomach. The vet said just wait it out and bring him back on Tuesday if his stomach was still enlarged.

Today, his stomach was the same if not bigger. He couldn’t even fit through his doggie door to go outside. So we took him to the vet and dropped him off this morning. They sedated him and took a lot of water off of him. They said that they had to put him on oxygen while he was sedated because his heart is too weak. They suggested that we up his lasix to 8 pills a day and put him on a special K.D. diet, which is supposed to be good for his heart. The vet told us that Moose isn’t in good shape, which we all kind of know. He’s 16 with diabetes and congestive heart failure, what can you expect? However, some good news did come today: Moose’s glucose level was actually low, which means that his diabetes has improved and we can give him less insulin. That is a bit of good news for him!!! He should be feeling a lot better tomorrow after he gets some rest and he won’t be lugging around all of that extra fluid.

The vet said that now Moose is just sleeping and waiting to be picked up. I think my dad is going to be taking off of work early to pick him up. I feel bad for the little guy since he can’t see and he probably had no idea where he is or why he is in a cage. He probably thinks that we abandoned him. :(

and so it begins

Well, classes are officially done. That can only mean one thing: it’s time for finals! I must say that I’m not looking forward to finals at all…. it’s just a sucky deal all together. Here’s my craptastic awesome schedule:

Wednesday (4/30): Accounting Final: 8:00am - 10:30am, Research Methods Final Presentation: 11:00am - 1:30pm

Thursday (5/1): Philosophy Final: 8:00am - 10:30am

Monday (5/5): Media Law Final: 2:00pm - 4:30pm

Tuesday (5/6): Spanish IV Final: 11:00am - 1:30pm

And there you have it. I’m most nervous about the Spanish final. Spanish usually kicks my ass.

Will the Spurs pull off the sweep?

Absolutely! Apparently not.

So, I should be studying for finals right now….. but what am I doing? I’m watching the Spurs get their asses kicked by the Phoenix Suns. But I’m not too worried about it since we’ve whooped their asses for the past three games. Losing one game won’t hurt, and the next game is in San Antonio so I’m hopeful that we will win that one.

Why do so many people hate the Spurs? I’ve always wondered. I am from San Antonio but I don’t go to school in San Antonio and where I go to school so many people always talk shit about the Spurs. My other friends from San Antonio agree that many people hate the Spurs. Why? You have to admit that they are an incredible team (the word dynasty has even been thrown around). I don’t think that anyone outside of San Antonio likes the Spurs.

I’d just like to say how much I LOVE MY SPURS!!!!

more than fine

Well, Moose is fine. We took him to the vet this morning and the vet said that Moose is in incredible shape for being 16. We’re taking him back on Tuesday so that he can be sedated and they can do a tap on his stomach to see if it’s liquid or gas that is building up. He has been pretty gassy lately so it could just be gas. Who knows? The ride to the vet sure did tucker him out though because when he got back home he was dragging. He’s snoozin’ now though so all is good.

everything’s not lost

Well, my stressful week has finally come to an end. The next two weeks will be just as stressful, but looking into the future it is better to see two weeks ahead than three. I’m glad.  It seems like this semester can’t end fast enough.

I have a dog. His name is Moose. He’s a miniature schnauzer and I’ve had him for around 16 years now. He’s pretty old. He has a vet appointment tomorrow because he’s retaining water and his lasix has stopped working. I’m sure they’ll just give him a shot to clear the problem up but I can’t help worrying. Every time any little thing goes wrong with him we all get worried since he’s so old. Poor guy.

allow me to exaggerate a memory or two

Well, here it is. The inevitable first post. I always dread the first post. Even if it isn’t my first journal post ever, it’s my first journal post here. Is this even a journal? Or would this be considered a blog? Who knows?

It’s that time of year again when all of the professors are trying to cram in as much as they can. Finals start next week and the stress level is pretty high right now, at least for me. I had a test today, a presentation tomorrow, a test on Monday, a presentation on Wednesday and my first final on Wednesday as well. All in all, I’d say that sucks. I just keep thinking that it will all be done with in another two weeks. I’m ecstatic.
